Apple’s Hardest Sell Yet

Apple has made so many things that have allowed our lives to become more connected and more productive. The first All-in-One Computer, The iMac. The first touch screen phone, the iPhone. The first portable digital media player, the iPod.

Now, they are not the innovator of the smart watch, but because other companies have tested the waters and have failed to produce results. Best buy reported that 30% of the Samsung smart watches were returned in 2013 due to unsatisfied customers(1).

So how do you think Apple will make their watch seem any cooler or… sexier…(I hate that word, but it must be used in this situation) than Samsung’s device?

This device is new and has only been seen in sci-fi movies, shows and novels, but never in real life. The people have no real connection with it and don’t know what to expect from it. This is one of the big reasons why Samsung failed with their watch.

They could sell it as a fitness device or a luxury electronic, but there are so many devices like that out there in the world. The best way Apple could sell this device would be by waiting until a real application can be found for it.

Apple also could be like The Beatles. John Lennon once said he could sell any song. To prove it, he wrote the song, “I am the Walrus”. It was one of the Beatles best selling songs. Apple can do the same.

There are so many people in this world that want Apple products because they are Apple products. The watch will most likely sell because people want the latest thing rather than it is something they will use.

Overall, Apple is a company that I love due to their innovations, and hate because of their fanbase. Their watch will not be their hardest sell, it will be just as easy to sell as the iPod Shuffle.
